About GSIF

Established in 2013, the Girevoy Sport (Kettlebell Sport) India Federation is a self-funded, non-profit organization legally incorporated in the state of Maharashtra (Mumbai). GSIF is officially affiliated with the World Kettlebell Sport Federation (WKSF) and recognized as the national governing body for the promotion and development of Kettlebell (Girevoy) Sport in India.

With a mission to build awareness, train athletes, and organize national and international-level competitions, GSIF is committed to advancing the standards of Kettlebell Sport across the country.

Championship Pathway: From Zonal to World Stage

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to create meaningful opportunities for athletes across the country to showcase their talent and progress step by step — from local beginnings to international recognition.
The structured championship pathway in Girevoy (Kettlebell) Sport ensures that every athlete has a clear route for advancement, development, and achievement at the highest level.

Stage 1 – Zonal Championships

The Zonal Championships mark the entry point into the national competition framework.
Held in major cities across India, these events identify and nurture emerging athletes, offering them the opportunity to compete under official conditions and standardized judging.
Zonal competitions help athletes gain experience, confidence, and exposure to the formal rules of kettlebell sport — building the foundation for future success.

Stage 2 – Interstate Championships

The Interstate Championships bring together the best lifters from various states and union territories.
This stage emphasizes consistency, technical growth, and competitive spirit among athletes representing their regions.
Results from the Interstate Championships serve as the qualification gateway to the National Championships, ensuring that only the top performers move forward.
Each participant’s performance is evaluated according to official national standards and endurance benchmarks.

Stage 3 – National Championships

The National Championships, held annually every April, represent the highest level of kettlebell competition within India.
Athletes who qualify from the interstate level compete for national titles, rankings, and records under the supervision of certified judges and officials.
This championship is also the selection platform for the Indian National Team, where top lifters earn the honor of representing the nation at continental and world events.

Stage 4 – Asian Championships

The Asian Championships bring together elite athletes from across the continent.
Representing India at this stage is both an achievement and an opportunity — athletes gain international exposure, compete with top performers from Asia, and benchmark their progress on a larger competitive scale.
Participation here prepares athletes for global challenges and fosters collaboration with the international kettlebell community.

Stage 5 – World Championships

The World Championships are the ultimate stage in the journey of a kettlebell athlete.
Selected athletes represent India on the world stage, competing against champions from around the globe.This event celebrates the pinnacle of strength, technique, and endurance — a true reflection of dedication, discipline, and global sportsmanship.
